Das fliegende Auge (1983)

Um die Sicherheit in Los Angeles zu erhöhen hat die Polizei einen neuen Überwachungshubschrauber mit dem Namen "Blue Thunder", auch "Das fliegende Auge" genannt, angeschafft. Die beiden Polizisten Frank Murphy und Richard Lymangood sind dazu auserkoren, das mit modernster Technik und durchschlagskräftigen Waffen ausgestattete Fluggerät zu testen. Mit Hilfe der Abhörfunktionen des Hubschraubers nehmen sie dabei ein Gespräch ihres Vorgesetzten F. E. Cochrane auf, in dem der seinen Plan schildert, die Einwanderer zu Unruhen anzustacheln., damit "Blue Thunder" seine Durchschlagskraft im Einsatz beweisen kann. Murphy und Lymangood wollen verhindern, dass Cochrane seine schändliche Absicht umsetzen kann, so dass sich zwischen den drei Männern ein mit allen Mitteln geführter Kampf entwickelt.
